Zaměření předmětu

Tento konverzační kurz je určen posluchačům, kteří si chtějí prohloubit znalost angličtiny a procvičit konverzaci na úrovni Advanced C1. Diskuse všech účastníků na předem daná témata, která sami navrhují, je pro tento kurz zásadní. Hlavní důraz je kladen na diskusní témata, která jsou aktuální v ČR a ve světě a která jsou v popředí zájmu účastníků kurzu. Učebnice se v tomto konverzačním kurzu nepoužívá.

Výsledky učení

Po absolvování kurzu na úrovni Advanced budou studenti pohotově reagovat na daná témata a plynně o nich diskutovat a budou schopni bez problémů prezentovat vlastní názory na úrovni C1.

Obsah předmětu

1. My expectations for the new year 2026.
2. Commentary on the policy statement and appointment of ministers of the new Czech government.
3. My favourite literature; what does literature mean to me?
4. The participants belong to a small fragment of the older generation that has mastered English at a very high level. When you grew up and were trained, English was not a language supported by the political system of the time.
   What life/family circumstances have contributed to your English language competence being at such an advanced level?
5. Israeli-Palestinian conflict development.
6. Soccer and its popularity around the world; the highest-paid players in the world.
7. Miscellaneous topics according to participants‘ choice.
8. Music and its impact on my mood. Name ONE brilliant composer and the reasons why you consider him to be one.
9. How my previous profession has influenced my activities during retirement.
10. A game of guessing the personality or profession of a famous person.
11. Various topics based on participants‘ choice.
12. Latest developments in the world with regard to neuralgic points.
13. Plans for upcoming summer of 2026. Discussion and suggestions of participants for the next semester.
